I dye my hair. I confess it freely and with pride. My battle with The GREYS has been going on for more than a decade now. In recent years, more vigilance has been required. My brother - who has been a distinguished salt-and-pepper since his mid-30s, advises me to just give up the ghost. Of course, my main fear is that I'll LOOK like a ghost, should I skip my regular salon visit. I'm rather pale as it is (my grandfather used to call me "White Meat") so the chance that I'll simply morph into some kind of colorless entity is pretty good. Unsurprisingly, this is unacceptable to me. Therefore, I'll continue fighting the good fight - never certain if I'll walk out a blonde, brunette, or redhead. But completely certain that when I DO walk out, I'll feel young and vibrant and sexy again. And if getting rid of The GREYS is what it takes to put that spring in my step, well then, be certain I'm booked with my hairdresser for another appointment in six weeks' time.
